Ok I admit, we're F1 starved over here, but I still think that those of us in SA can wax lyrical about the 2 seat Minardi event yesterday at Kyalami.
They were getting round the 4.3k track in 1min 34 (not shabby considering that some of them were carrying 85kg passengers) - Bruni won the first heat (def the quickest driver on the day) Alan van der Merwe won the 2nd heat. Watch out for Alan, eager, quick and in the Jenson Button mould - polite and friendly. My best moments: Jody in his original championship winning 1979 FP4 ( 1min 55 sec laps) ; He is looking well, and Stoddarts comment that the 8 drivers were not interested in his drivers briefing to 'take it easy' due to the passengers - certainly borne out by the 3 abreast squeeze into the first corner! Anyone else have a view to share on the day? |
