Wow, trades galore as some of the weaker, but high payroll teams dump there players to playoff bound teams

Washington has already given Gonchar to Boston, Lang to Detroit and Bondra to Ottawa. New York Rangers, the team with the highest payroll is dismantling as well, as Leetch headed to Toronto, Kovalev went to Montreal (IMG:http://www.linksheaven.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) and Nedved and goaltender Markkanen went to Edmonton. All of the New York trades happened yesterday! (IMG:http://www.linksheaven.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)


The race in the eastern conference heats up too, as 5 teams are in contention for first. The top 8 make the playoffs.

Although Montreal is the winningest NHL team in history, they have only made the playoff tournament once in the last 6 years, so Im going to brag that they have a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference by updating the stats
