opinions please

Did Schumacher cook the corner to prevent losing pole?
The mass media at the circuit have cried "SABOTAGE!"

and his new suit looks rediculous

Everyone in the paddock thinks he did it deliberately.
He should have had no problem making it around that corner - it was only a small lockup, and the back of the car didn't step out at all.

Michael Cheatmacher strikes again. And he's not a particularly convincing liar either. "And when they said P1, I didn't believe it". Yeah, right.

Get him out of the sport now. That should really be the final straw.

MS has such an unblemished reputation for sportsman like behaviour that I am shocked, shocked I say that you are casting doubts on his bone fides.

This is a disgrace, its not the first time weve seen this kind of carry on from Schumacher,he was fumbling over his words in the press conference saying things like he coundnt find reverse its a joke.....back of the grid please for him,or disqualify him from the race altogether. Well, I can only go by second hand info on the Schumacher thing, so I wont comment on that. But I just want to say well done to Webber for P3. Maybe we might see a Williams on the podium! I just hope he isn't short filled. Rosbeg was only P10 and they usually fill them the same, so I'm hoping that's not the case.

Heh, very funny (IMG:http://www.linksheaven.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

That was undoubtedly done on purpose. MS could have made the last corner and he deliberately parked at La Racasse to prevent Alonso from taking pole. MS has parked his motor in some interesting places before - I seem to remember him stopping the car in an akward place that caused a red flag which enabled him to dash back to the pits for the spare, although my mind doesn't remember where or when!

Schumacher should be sent to back and keep his team mate company.

That was Austria 2000 Ollie. Didn't work for him though - they brought out the safety car instead of the red flag.

I think the real damning evidence, was that MS seemed to screw up the screw up. He locked up early enough, but he let out of the brake to get the wheel rolling again, and then kind of considered whether to turn or not, and you can see that in the body language of the car, and then in the end he straightened it out when he should have tried to make the corner, it atleast would have been a more convincing lie.

Alonso looked visiibly pissed, and he should be, but fuel and strategy are still going to win the day, if Michael doesn't have the right fuel strategy and if he doesn't get off the line well, it was all for not anyway. So if it was indeed intentional, then it was really hanging on a prayer. Also, the real tragedy here, is not just that Alonso lost out on pole, but Webber had a better lap going, so probably did a few other guys, so it had potentially much larger rammifications. Even Fisi, how much did that block his efforts.

The one thing for my thoughts is though, was it planned or not. It almost had to have been pre planned, since Alonso could barely be through the first sector when MS did his deed, because it was close to a minute before Alonso came through. I don't know, but it just seems Ferrari can't get too far along without stepping back in the shite pool again for controversy. We'll see how it plays out. Wreck at the first corner between FA and MS anyone?

I don't think it was pre-planned, I do think the inital lockup was accidental, but MS who was no doubt aware of Alonso behind, decided to make the most of it.

I'm seeing posts elsewhere from Schumacher fans who think it was deliberate.

Within minutes of the end of qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix, there were rumblings in the paddock that a number of the F1 drivers are so unahppy about what happened to Michael Schumacher that the Grand Prix Drivers' Association is going to demand Schumacher's resignation from the board of directors of the organisation because they consider his manoeuvre at Rascasse to have been unsporting and detrimental to the image of the sport.
