Trulli suspicious - Jarno saying nice things about Nascar
June 16th, 2008
Following in the footsteps of David Coulthard, fellow F1 veteran Jarno Trulli has become the next Grand Prix star to stop in at a NASCAR event.
“It’s all so different from Formula One,” Associated Press also quoted him as saying.
He said he respects NASCAR drivers.
“It’s not so easy as people think,” he insisted. “Juan is having a bit of a hard time. The racing is very tough.”
What’s the betting we see Trulli trying his hand at Nascar in the near future? Whatever about Juan Pablo, I can’t see Jarno fitting into the Nascar scene.

How different is SpeedCar from NASCAR? Perhaps JT would find a home there. I expect JT was there as a Toyota man - is Toyota also in SpeedCar? Wouldn’t JT be more at home in DTM? Or in sports cars/endurance? Or maybe, after such a long F1 career, he would just take some time off.. Italian F1 TV? Almost anything but bumping around the middle of the US in out of the way locations. JT will not go to NASCAR..

To be in NASCAR a driver must fit the GOOD OL’ BOY image (or at least play the part). Trulli’s rocker image TRULY seems to me does not fit in the Charlotte kingdom.
As “bluenose” suggested maybe SPEEDCAR will be a better venue.

Trulli clearly has no idea what’s going on with JPM to suggest he is having a hard time. His car is terrible and he has had three crew chief’s this year. Despite all that JP is solidly in the top 15. Trulli is showing his ignorance.
Bluenose, I don’t see Jarno going to DTM mostly because he claimed there was such a distinction between himself and Ralf. Could he really go into DTM himself with his ego intact?
