A couple of footnotes coming out of the European Grand Prix
* - The last Formula 1 race at the original Nürburgring (Nordschleife) took place 30 years ago at the German Grand Prix in 1976. The track was soon deemed unsuitable for Formula 1, with the cars becoming airborne at several points and being too long in length to effectively marshal. This was demonstrated by….
* - Niki Lauda’s horrific accident, during the 1976 German Grand Prix making it also the 30th anniverary of that incident.
* - 10 years ago at the European Grand Prix, Jacques Villeneuve scored his first F1 victory with Williams-Renault.
